Am I missing something or does this app simply crop the photos to 6x7? It doesnt add any pretty film filters. It takes B&W, but really low contrasty, uninspiring B&W. The end result is photos that looks like digital camera phone photos only with a 6x7 aspect ratio. You can crop in iOS5 for free. You really should be able to "return" apps within 24 hours.
Very useful way to set exposure and focus to different areas of a photo. Like the grid choices Very definitely needs direct access to the camera roll or some way to review the image just taken without having to leave the app and tap camera roll. Please make this a priority to update.
It wont even open on my iPod touch 4.
The frame is classy, & goes w/the format. Pic quality is good, very subtle @ first, but its there. Rating goes up, thanks. Quick, efficient, takes decent pics. It wouldnt hurt if the devs added at least a couple of filters, just to match that classic 6x7 look, and also these pics look naked w/o any borders/frames. Filters dont necessarily need to be added, but frames do. Add them and the rating goes up.
This is a good app that can be great with a few updates. On the plus side, its an elegantly designed UI, and the 6x7 format is indeed very pleasing to the eye. The new border feature is good. Whats missing is surface texture for the images. I would like the option to add a film-like veneer to the images...grain, contrast, much richer black and white, vignette, etc. I like this app and will keep my fingers crossed it improves.
I have enjoyed using this app since 1.0 as it brings something different with a lot of simplicity. The developer has been listening and has brought out two solid updates with requested features. Definitely worth the price of admission for a fresh perspective with great quality pictures.
Im smitten with 6x7. Its now my go-to camera on my iPhone.
Im completely smitten with 6x7 as well I have put off downloading this app forever and I finally pulled the trigger last night. Since downloading I have taken around 100 shots or more. The black and whites this app produces are incredible. For those asking for filters and the ability to import from the camera roll, I say you are missing the point and the whole idea of this app. Please take some time to read up on medium format photography and youll soon understand the air of this gem. It takes a photographer to truly appreciate this amazing app so if you dont "get it" then its probably not for you.
Ive used most of the best iPhone camera apps out there and then I found 6x7... Simply put, it is the best iPhone camera app out there. The colors are smooth and rich without being over-saturated, the contrast is just right, and the aspect ratio is very pleasing.
Ok I have the 6x6 and now the 6x7 apps, these were both of my favorite formats in film photography and one thing that set these apart in film was simple elegance and you have duplicated that elegance perfectly on my iPhone. Thank you. Now, what about say my old trusty Nikon F with a fixed 35mm lens??
This is a fine app, like 6x6 from the same developer. Its a great alternative to all the nostalgic apps that apply heavy filtering to give photos a vintage or analog look. 6x7 looks and acts like a real camera, and the results look like photos taken with classic film stock.
This is a great app by a great developer. Solid performance with good results. I like the manual controls that give you the ability to make your photos stand out. This is a great tool for taking good pictures. It is not a cheesy over-processed filter app. Well done!
easy to use, excellent in all catagories of use. Support is speedy if needed. this is a class act, class act developer. You would be missing an exceptional app if you dont get this. Your pictures will Snap. Very well done
Updated this afternoon on my iPhone 4 to iOS 6. 6x7 opens fine but when you take a picture the app stalls before saving the photo then crashes all together to the home screen. Just a heads up. This is my default camera app. I love it. Hope you can fix it.
I love this app and shoot with it every day. updating to iOS 6 has killed that. the app now crashes every time I take a picture. I think it needs permission to access the photos but since it isnt asking it crashes instead. I cant find a way to manually give 6x7 permission. until then, Ill be checking the App Store every day for a fix and trying not to cry.
Love the quality of pictures taken by this app!! I was a little nervous that it might not work from reading reviews below but it did ask permission to access my photos and it seems to be working great! I have already made this my official camera!
Oct 1, so I finally decide to get this app. Paid my 99 cent plus tax and ALL I GET IS ONE (1) PHOTO!! Before the whole app goes to crap! Thanks ever so much, now Ill be SURE NOT to buy an app 645 PRO that cost $2.99 only to have it go to crap. DELETED!!! LET ME KNOW WHEN YOU FIX IT!! UNTIL THEN GOOD BYE!
The app is nice; interface pretty straight forward and easy to understand. Only thing I noticed is that it seems to put a heavy load on the camera as I could feel it getting warm and noticed the battery level dropping noticeably while using it.
6x7 has always taken great photos. 67 is my ideal format and my primary workhorse is a mamiya. But with recent updates, this app is terrible on the iPhone4. It takes longer to capture and process images, lags often, and wont work in the background (if you lock your phone or close the app before its done, you lose the photos. fantastic) please change this.
